Installation Procedure

  1. Install the boot (2) to the ignition coil (1). The new boot is fully seated when it is within 1 mm (0.040 in) of metal shield.

    NOTE: Be careful to avoid boot damage during installation, boot damage can cause weakened ignition system strength.
  2. Install the EN-6009  remover/installer (1).

  3. Install the ignition coil (2).
  4. Remove the EN-6009  remover/installer (1).
  5. Install the ignition coil fasteners and tighten to 8 (71 lb in).
  6. Install the ignition coil cover in the opposite direction of the arrow.
    NOTE: Note the arrow on the cover.
  7. Connect the ignition coil electrical connector (2).

  8. Install the engine wiring harness guide (1) at the cylinder head.
