Removal Procedure

- Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Front Compartment Splash Shield» Remove - Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement
- Disconnect any harnesses or retainers secured to the front lower control arm.
Note any attaching points to aid in installation.
- Steering Knuckle Nut (1)» Remove
- Steering Knuckle Bolt (2)» Remove
DISCARD the bolt.
- Separate the pinch joint at the front lower control arm ball joint and the steering knuckle.CAUTION: Do not pry against the ball joint boot when separating the ball joint from the steering knuckle. The integrated washer in the boot protects both the boot and joint and prying against the ball joint boot may damage the washer and impair the boot.
- Front Lower Control Arm Front Nut (1)» Remove
NOTE: The steering knuckle is NOT shown for clarity only. It is NOT necessary to remove the steering knuckle to service the front lower control arm.
- Front Lower Control Arm Front Bolt (2)» Remove
DISCARD the bolt.
- Front Lower Control Arm Rear Nut (1)» Remove [2x]
NOTE: The steering knuckle is NOT shown for clarity only. It is NOT necessary to remove the steering knuckle to service the front lower control arm.
- Front Lower Control Arm Rear Bolt (2)» Remove [2x]
DISCARD the bolts.
- Remove the front lower control arm (3) from the vehicle.
- Transfer components as necessary.
