Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator (1) from above.

  2. Install the 2 generator bolts (2) and tighten to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Raise the vehicle.
  4. Fasten the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  5. Connect the generator wiring harness connector (3).

  6. Install the generator positive cable (2).
  7. Install the generator positive cable nut (1) and tighten to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
  8. If equipped, install the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
  9. If equipped, remove the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  12. Close the hood.
