Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Fig 1: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Temperature Sensor Wiring Harness Plug

  4. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation valve wiring harness plug (5) from the exhaust gas recirculation valve (6) and lay aside.
  5. WARNING:

    In order to avoid being burned, do not service the exhaust system while it is still hot. Service the system when it is cool.

  6. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation valve temperature sensor wiring harness plug (4).
  7. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve temperature sensor wiring harness plug (4) out of the retainer (3).
  8. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve temperature sensor (2), use a suitable tool.
