Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. WARNING:

    In order to avoid being burned, do not service the exhaust system while it is still hot. Service the system when it is cool.

  3. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator vacuum control solenoid valve splash shield. Refer to Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Splash Shield Replacement .

  5. Loosen the exhaust gas recirculation valve temperature sensor (2), use a suitable tool (1), e.g. a crow foot.

  7. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation valve temperature sensor wiring harness plug (2).
  8. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve temperature sensor wiring harness plug (2) out of the retainer (3).
  9. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve temperature sensor (1).
