Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement (Convertible) .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible) .
  4. Remove left side quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible) .
  5. Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  6. Remove rear seat back cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Convertible) .

  8. Open the battery positive cable terminal cover.
  9. Loosen the battery terminal nut (1) and remove the battery positive cable clamp from the battery post.
  10. Detach the battery positive cable retainer (2) and push the battery positive cable (4) through the seat back panel (3) opening.

  12. Remove the junction block cover (4) and remove the junction block nut (3).
  13. Remove the battery positive cable to starter cable from the junction block terminal (1).
  14. Remove the battery positive cable (2).
  15. Disconnect the battery positive cable retainers leading to the plenum pass-through.

  17. Remove the pass-through grommet (1) from the floor plenum.
  18. Disconnect the battery positive cable retainers (2) from the floor plenum.
  19. Pull the battery positive cable into the passenger compartment through the plenum opening.

  21. Working through the openings in the floor carpet, disconnect the battery positive cable retainers (1) along the floor console tunnel.

  23. Detach battery positive cable retainers (1) and remove the battery positive cable (2) from the passenger compartment.
