Circuit/System Verification

  1. With a scan tool record all current DTCs.
  2. Diagnosis all other DTCs first starting with U codes, refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
  3. After all of the other DTCs are repaired, verify that DTC P0856 is not set.
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Replace the K20 engine control module.
    2. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for setting the DTC, the DTC should not set.
      • If the DTC sets, replace the K17 electronic brake control module.
      • If the DTC does not set.
    3. All OK.
    • If the DTC is not set 
  4. All OK.
