Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Q73 Brake Booster Solenoid Valve and disconnect the harness connector at the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between each Q73 Brake Booster Solenoid Valve harness connector terminals listed below and ground.
- 12V reference circuit terminal 3
- Low reference circuit terminal 4
- If 1 V or greater
Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for infinite resistance between each Q73 Brake Booster Solenoid Valve harness connector terminals listed below and ground.
- 12V reference circuit terminal 3
- Low reference circuit terminal 4
- If less than infinite resistance
Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If Infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω between each harness connector terminal listed below end to end.
- Q73 Brake Booster Solenoid Valve - terminal 3 and K17 Electronic Brake Control Module terminal 7
- Q73 Brake Booster Solenoid Valve - terminal 4 and K17 Electronic Brake Control Module terminal 31
- If 2 Ω or greater
Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω
- Connect the harness connector at the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module, ignition ON.
- Clear the DTC, verify the DTC sets.
- If the DTC did not set
Replace the Power Vacuum Brake Booster.
- If the DTC did set
- If the DTC did not set
- Program the EBCM.
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets, replace the EBCM.
- If the DTC does not set
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- All OK.
