Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate B59 front impact sensor or B63 side impact sensor.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the scan tool, wait 120 seconds, test for less than 10 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K36 SDM.
- Test for greater than 50k Ω between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K36 SDM.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the SDM.
- Test for less than 1 Ω between the impact sensor signal circuit terminal 1 and the SDM terminal listed below.
- B59 Left front impact sensor terminal 23 X2
- B59 Right front impact sensor terminal 26 X2
- B63 Left front side impact sensor terminal 19 X2
- B63 Right front side impact sensor terminal 22 X2
- B63 Left rear side impact sensor terminal 27 X2
- B63 Right rear side impact sensor terminal 30 X2
- If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the B59 front impact sensor or B63 side impact sensor. The DTC should not be set as current.
- If the DTC resets as current, replace the K36 SDM.
