Installation Procedure
- Position the tank assembly in the vehicle.
- Raise and lower the tank assembly onto the vehicle tank brackets.
- Install the tank strap retaining nuts and bolts (4) and tighten the mounting fasteners to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
- Connect the fuel inlet line to the high pressure lock-off using a new O-ring. Lubricate the O-ring with petroleum jelly or equivalent. Tighten the fitting to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
- Connect the HPL vent lines and tighten to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector at the high pressure lock-off solenoid.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Open all tank manual valves.
- Prime the CNG fuel system by cycling the ignition ON and OFF several times.
- Start the engine and use the J-45878 detector or equivalent in order to inspect for CNG fuel system leaks at each serviced fitting.
- Install the vapor bag.
- Install the fuel tank cover. Refer to Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Aft Tank , , Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Cargo Tank , and Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Midship Tank .
