Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the check valve to the fitting using a NEW O-ring. Lubricate the new O-ring with petroleum jelly or equivalent before installation. Tighten the check valve to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
  2. Connect the fill line fitting to the check valve using a NEW O-ring. Lubricate the new O-ring with petroleum jelly or equivalent before installation. Tighten the fuel line fitting to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
  3. Install the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  4. open ALL the tank valves.
  5. Install ALL the fuel tank covers. Refer to Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Aft Tank , , Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Cargo Tank , and Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Midship Tank .
  6. Start the vehicle and inspect for CNG fuel leaks at the serviced fittings with the J-45878  detector or an equivalent leak detector.
