Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Connect the CNG fuel line to the fuel fittings and tighten using NEW O-rings. Lubricate the new O-rings with petroleum jelly or equivalent before installation. Tighten the fuel line fittings to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
  2. Open ALL manual tank valves.
  3. Install ALL fuel tank covers. Refer to Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Aft Tank , , Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Cargo Tank , and Compressed Natural Gas Tank Cover Replacement - Midship Tank .
  4. Install the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  5. Start the vehicle and inspect for CNG fuel leaks at the serviced fittings with the J-45878  detector or an equivalent leak detector.
