Installation Procedure

WARNING:

To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning

  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  4. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .

  6. Turn the fuel gauge assembly valve (3) to the open position.
  7. NOTE:

    Wrap a shop towel around the schrader valve (2) when connecting the fuel gauge assembly to the fuel pressure inspection valve on the fuel feed pipe to avoid fuel spilling.

    NOTE:

    Screw on the schrader valve quickly to avoid fuel spillage.

  8. Connect the schrader valve (2) to the fuel pressure inspection valve on the fuel feed pipe.
  9. Open the bleed valve (1) to bleed any pressurized fuel.
  10. Close the bleed valve (1) when the fuel pressure has dropped to 0 kPa (psi).
