Installation Procedure

  1. Cap the power steering gear end of the power steering gear outlet hose.
  2. Position the power steering gear outlet hose on the front frame.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the 3 bolts to the 3 brackets (4) on the power steering gear outlet hose (1). Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  4. Remove the cap from the power steering fluid cooler inlet port (3). Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering fluid cooler inlet port.

  5. Remove the cap from the power steering gear outlet hose (2). When fluid begins to flow from the hose, cover the end of the hose with your finger. Ensure the O-ring seal is on the hose and is in good condition.
  6. Remove the plug from the steering gear outlet port and quickly connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the steering gear. Tighten the fitting to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
  7. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
  8. Remove the drain pans.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
