Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. If necessary, remove the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  4. Remove the wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement .
  5. Remove the glow plug harness nut(s).
  6. Remove the harness from the glow plug(s).
  7. NOTE:

    If a glow plug is replaced and the tip is missing or burned off, the cylinder head must be removed and all debris must be cleaned out of the cylinder.

  8. Remove the glow plug(s).
