Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (4.3L) , Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L or 6.0L) .
  3. Remove the left fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Left Side .
  4. Remove the fuel high pressure pipes - rail to rail. Refer to Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Rail to Rail .

  6. Disconnect the fuel pressure relief valve electrical connector (1).
  7. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe (2).

  9. Collapse the spring clamp and disconnect the fuel return hose (1).

  11. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector (1).

  13. Remove the fuel rail heat shield fasteners (1).

  15. Remove the fuel injection rail fasteners (1).
  16. Remove the heat shield (2) and fuel injection fuel rail assembly (3).
