Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the fuel injection fuel rail assembly (3) and heat shield (2).
  2. Install the fuel injection rail fasteners (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the fuel rail heat shield fasteners (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Connect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector (1).

  8. Collapse the spring clamp, and connect the fuel return hose (1).

  10. Connector the fuel pressure relief valve electrical connector (1).
  11. Install the fuel high pressure pipes - rail to rail. Refer to Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Rail to Rail .
  12. Install the high pressure fuel pipe (2) and tighten to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
  13. Install the left fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Left Side .
  14. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (4.3L) , Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L) .
  15. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming .
  16. Start the engine.

    If the engine does not start, repeat the above step.

  17. Inspect the fuel system for fuel leaks.
  18. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
