Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B55 Hood Ajar Switch.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 8 Ω between the ground circuit terminal C and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition ON, test for greater than 11 V between the signal circuit terminal B and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module (BCM).
  4. Disconnect the X4 harness connector at the BCM.
  5. Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit terminal 24 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
  6. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the B55 Hood Ajar Switch.
