Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, command the instrument panel cluster (IPC) Lamp Test with a scan tool. The passenger seat belt indicator should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
    • If the indicator is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
    • If the indicator is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
  2. Monitor the SDM Passenger Seat Belt Switch parameter while connecting and disconnecting the seat belt. The parameter should display Buckled and Unbuckled when changing seat belt states.
