Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, verify that no immobilizer or automatic transmission DTCs are set that would cause the ECM to disable engine starting.
  2. Attempt to start the engine. Observe the following scan tool parameters in the ECM Electrical/Theft data list. Verify that the scan tool displays the status is OK.
    • Starter Relay Ckt Short Gnd Test Status
    • Starter Relay Ckt Open Test Status
    • Starter Relay Ckt Short Volts Test Status
    • If the scan tool displays any of the test status as Fault, then refer to Circuit/System Testing below.
  3. Refer to Diagnostic Aids above.
