Installation Procedure

  1. Position the EGR valve adapter and gasket.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

  2. Install the EGR valve adapter retaining bolts.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the EGR valve adapter retaining bolts (1) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft)  .
    • Tighten the EGR valve adapter retaining bolts (2) to 30 N.m (22 lb ft)  .

  3. Install the heater return hose to the EGR valve adapter.
  4. Connect the EGR valve and the CTS electrical connectors.
  5. Install the spark plug wires.
  6. Install the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
  7. Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Gasoline Engines ) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Diesel Engine) .
