Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the transaxle wiring harness and disconnect the electrical connector from the park/neutral position (PNP) switch.

  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice .
  5. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  6. Using DT 46475  (1), remove the transaxle fluid drain plug. See Special Tools . Drain the transaxle fluid.

  8. Remove the oil pan and the oil pan gasket. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Pan and Gasket Removal .
  9. Remove the valve body mounting bolts.
  10. Remove the mounting bolt from the A/T input speed sensor.

  12. Remove the mounting bolts from the A/T output speed sensor.

  14. Remove the control valve body.
