Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (6.0L)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (7.0L) .
  2. Remove the right catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (6.0L) or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (7.0L) .

  3. Remove the positive battery cable nut.
  4. Remove the positive battery cable terminal and the engine harness leads from the solenoid.
  5. Remove the S terminal nut (2).
  6. Remove the purple wire lead (1) and washer from the solenoid.

  7. Support the starter motor.
  8. Remove the starter motor bolts.
  9. Remove the starter motor.
