Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Loosen the 2 insulator nuts (1).
    IMPORTANT: Do not kink or bend the brake lines when moving the electronic brake control module (EBCM)/brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly.
  3. Lift the EBCM/BPMV assembly out of the bracket and support.
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  5. Remove the 2 BPMV bracket bolts.
  6. Remove the steering gear nut and bolt.
  7. Remove the BPMV bracket.
