Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement

Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door in Doors.
  3. Reposition the water deflector.
1 Bolt, Side Impact Sensor (Qty: 2)
Tip:  Loosen the bolts in order to remove the sensor.

Tighten:  8 N.m (71 lb in)
2 Sensor, Side Impact
Tip: 
  1. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
