Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (7.0L)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (6.0L) .
  2. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (Left) or Catalytic Converter Replacement (Right) .

  4. Remove the positive battery cable nut.
  5. Remove the positive battery cable terminal and the engine harness leads from the solenoid.
  6. Remove the S terminal nut (2).
  7. Remove the purple wire lead (1) and washer from the solenoid.

  9. Support the starter motor.
  10. Remove the starter motor bolts.
  11. Remove the starter motor.
