Installation Procedure

  1. Install the starter motor.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the starter motor bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 78 N.m (58 lb ft).

  5. Install the positive battery cable lead (8) to the starter.
  6. Install the positive battery cable nut (7).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  8. Install the engine wiring harness lead (1) to the starter.
  9. Install the engine wiring harness nut (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 3.4 N.m (30 lb in).

  10. Install the right fender wheelhouse inner panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Extension Replacement .
  11. If necessary, install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
