Test Description
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
- 5:
This step tests to see if there is a short to voltage in the seat belt indicator supply voltage circuit
- 7:
This step tests to see if there is an open, high resistance, or a short to ground in the seat belt indicator supply voltage circuit

- Note the seat belt indicator while turning the ignition ON.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Does the seat belt indicator stay ON continuously? |

- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C2. Refer to Control Module References
in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

- Disconnect the instrument panel cluster (IPC) connector C1. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Test the seat belt indicator supply voltage circuit for a short to voltage.

- Disconnect the IPC connector C1. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Test the seat belt indicator supply voltage circuit for an open, high resistance, or a short to ground.

- Reconnect all components.
- Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC, as specified in the supporting text.
