Installation Procedure

  1. Position the shield around the tank frame.
    2. Fig 1: Fuel Tank Shield

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. While an assistant holds the shield in place, loosely install the shield retaining bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the weight distributing hitch if equipped. Refer to WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION HITCH REPLACEMENT in Frame and Underbody.
