Installation Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) O-Ring Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: Lubricate the new O-ring with petroleum jelly or equivalent before installation.
  1. Install the FTP sensor (2) in the tank valve using a new O-ring.

    Tighten:  Tighten the FTP sensor to 15 N.m (133 lb in).

  2. Connect the FTP sensor electrical connector.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Engine Electrical.
  4. Start the vehicle and use the J 45878  in order to inspect for CNG fuel leaks at each serviced fitting. See Special Tools .
  5. Install the CNG fuel tank cover. Refer to Fuel Tank Cover Replacement .
