Diagnostic Procedures
- Perform diagnostic system check - engine controls. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK - ENGINE CONTROLS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check - engine controls, go to next step.
- Is there a Current or Pending DTC P0107 or DTC P0108 set? If yes, go to DTC P0107: MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT - LOW VOLTAGE or DTC P0108: MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT - HIGH VOLTAGE . If no, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on, with engine off. Clear scan tool information. Select the MAP sensor parameter on the scan tool. Is MAP sensor pressure reading 97-100 kPa at sea level? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step 7.
- Turn ignition on, with engine off. Compare the pressure readings of the BARO sensor and MAP sensor on scan tool. Is the difference between the BARO pressure and MAP pressure more than 3 kPa? If yes, go to step 8. If no, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on, with engine off. Remove DOME fuse for 30 seconds (located in passenger compartment fuse block). Reinstall DOME fuse. Reset radio clock time. Start engine. Operate the vehicle within the Freeze Frame conditions as specified or until the DTC P2227 diagnostic test has run. Is DTC P2227 set? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Select the Freeze Frame/Failure Record for the current DTC P2227 on scan tool. Review the MAP sensor readings in the Freeze Frame/Failure Record. Were the recorded MAP sensor readings normal? If yes, go to step 8. If no, go to next step.
- Inspect the MAP sensor for a skewed or incorrectly calibrated MAP sensor, blockage or restriction in the MAP sensor vacuum supply, or electrical resistance in MAP sensor signal circuit. Repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step 9.
- Replace PCM. Perform PCM relearn procedure. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING. After replacing PCM, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Remove DOME fuse for 30 seconds. Install the DOME fuse. Reset the radio clock time. Start engine. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC or until the DTC P1500 diagnostic test has run. Does the DTC run and pass? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step 2.
- Using scan tool, observe stored information and Capture Info. Does the scan tool display any DTCs that you have not diagnosed? If yes, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If no, system is okay.
