Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front floor console trim plate. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE (PONTIAC) or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE (OLDSMOBILE) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Rotate the shift control indicator lamp socket (4) counterclockwise. Remove the socket from the trim plate (1).
  3. Remove the bulb from the socket.
