Removal Procedure

Important:  Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any escaping fluid.

  1. Remove the power steering pump fitting (1) from the pump tube (3).
  2. Remove the fitting gasket (2) from the pump tube.

    Important:  Do not separate the pump tube from the power steering pressure switch or the power steering gear inlet pipe.

  3. Separate the pump tube from the pump.
  4. Remove the gasket (4) and the seat (5) from the fitting.
  5. Remove the fitting (6) and the seal (7) from the pump.

  6. Remove the flow control valve (8) from the pump.
  7. Remove the spring (9) from the pump. Inspect the spring. Replace the spring if necessary.
