Fuel Tank: Installation

  1. Raise the fuel tank to the vehicle underbody. Install the 2 fuel tank straps to the vehicle. Tighten fuel tank strap bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install the fuel limiter vent valve hose to the EVAP canister.
  2. Install the fuel filler hose to the fuel tank. See Figure . Install the fuel breather hose to the fuel tank. Install the ORVR hose to the fuel filler pipe assembly. Secure the parking brake cables to the underbody with the 4 bolts.
  3. Install the rear exhaust heat shield to the vehicle underbody with the 4 screws and the one nut. Install the catalytic converter and intermediate pipe assembly to the vehicle. Lower the vehicle. Connect the electrical connector to the fuel sender assembly.
  4. Connect the fuel line to the fuel sender assembly. Install the retaining clip to the fuel line connection. Connect the negative battery cable. Pressurize the fuel system and check for leaks. Inspect the butyl caulk seal for the fuel sender assembly access panel.
  5. Replace any missing butyl caulk as necessary. Install the sender assembly access panel to the rear floor. Install the rear seat bottom cushion to vehicle. Refill the fuel tank.
