Test H: Panic Mode Inoperative

  1. If remote keyless entry system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If remote keyless entry system diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Using RKE transmitter, attempt to operate panic function. If both horns and headlights do not pulse on and off, go to next step. If both horns and headlights pulse on and off, problem may be intermittent. Check for intermittent or poor connections. Go to DIAGNOSING INTERMITTENTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - MONTANA, SILHOUETTE & VENTURE article.
  3. If any panic functions operate, go to next step. If no panic functions operate, go to TEST G: REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM INOPERATIVE  .
  4. If park lights pulse on and off, diagnose horn system. Go to HORNS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES - TRUCKS - EXCEPT TRACKER article. If horn sounds and lights do not pulse on and off, diagnose exterior lighting system fault. Go to appropriate EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
