Test F: Power Sliding Door Open/Close Inoperative With Transmitter

NOTE: Use this diagnostic test procedure when a power sliding door is inoperative when door is operated using the RKE transmitter. All other keyless entry functions operate normally.
  1. If remote keyless entry system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If remote keyless entry system diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Unlock vehicle doors. Turn power sliding door on/off switch in overhead console to ON position. Press power sliding door button for inoperative door on RKE transmitter. If power sliding door does not operate properly, go to next step. If power sliding door operates normally, problem may be intermittent. Go to DIAGNOSING INTERMITTENTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - MONTANA, SILHOUETTE & VENTURE article.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Ensure Power Sliding Door (PSD) lockout switch is in ON position. Press PSD open/close button located in overhead console. If PSD operates, go to next step. If PSD does not operate, see POWER SLIDING SIDE DOORS - MONTANA, SILHOUETTE & VENTURE article.
  4. Using Keyless Entry Tester (J-43241), place RKE transmitter on tester. Press suspect power sliding door button on RKE transmitter. If tone sounds and Green light illuminates on tester after button is pressed, go to next step. If tone does not sound and Green light does not illuminate on tester after button is pressed, go to step  7 .
  5. Check for high resistance or open in power sliding door control circuit (Light Blue wire if right side door, or Light Blue/Black wire if left side door) between RCDLR harness connector terminal No. 7 (Light Blue wire) or No. 9 (Light Blue/Black wire) and appropriate power sliding door actuator control module harness connector C2 terminal No. 10. See Figure and Fig 1 . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  9 .

  6. Check RCDLR connector for damage and intermittent or poor terminal contact. If connector and terminal contact is okay, go to step  8 . If connector and terminal contact is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  9 .
  7. Replace RKE transmitter. Perform programming procedure. Go to REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING. After repair, go to step  9 .
  8. Replace RCDLR. See REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
