Cruise Control Cable: Installation
NOTE:
Use correct fastener in correct location. Replacement fasteners must be correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage fastener. Use correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install cruise control servo cable (4) to servo lever (1). See Figure .
- Install cruise control servo cable (4) to bracket. Secure cable with screw (3). See Figure .
- Install cruise control servo cover (1) by applying slight downward pressure to cover.
- Install cruise control cable (2) to throttle lever (3). See Figure . Opening throttle lever by hand will aide in installation of cruise control cable.
- Install cruise control cable (2) to accelerator cable bracket.
- Install cruise control cable to cable guide clips.
- Adjust cable adjusting lock nuts to allow slight freedom of movement between cruise control cable and throttle lever.
- Secure cruise control cable lock nuts (1). Tighten cruise control cable adjusting lock nuts to 71 INCH lbs. (8 N.m).
