DTC 41: Continuous Cruise Control Module Output To Actuator

  1. If cruise control diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If cruise control diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform cruise control diagnostic system check. See CRUISE CONTROL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Clear any existing DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Test drive vehicle at speeds greater than 50 MPH. Engage cruise control and note cruise control operation for one minute. Stop vehicle and check for any cruise control DTCs. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC 41 resets, go to next step. If DTC 41 did not reset, go to step  5 .
  3. Inspect cruise control module harness connector for loose or corroded terminals. Check for intermittent condition. See INTERMITTENTS in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. After repair, go to step  6 .
  4. Replace cruise control module. After repair, go to step  6 .
  5. Concern does not exist at this time. Diagnose intermittent concern. See INTERMITTENTS in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
  6. Clear DTCs and retest system. Perform CRUISE CONTROL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If CRUISE control indicator does not flash any codes, system is okay. If CRUISE control indicator light flashes same DTC, go to step  2 .
