Shift Lock Solenoid: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the front and the rear console assembly. See FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE  and REAR FLOOR CONSOLE  .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the shift interlock solenoid (2). See Figure . Remove the indicator bulb (2). See Figure .
  3. Remove the 2 screws that retain the shift indicator cover. Raise and rotate the shift indicator cover to access 2 retaining screws on the shift interlock solenoid. Remove the 2 screws and the shift interlock solenoid.
