Circuit Description

Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) module produces a theft deterrent fuel enable signal when ignition is on and proper key resistor pellet is sensed by VTD module. PCM monitors fuel enable signal during cranking. If PCM detects fuel enable signal is not present or incorrect during cranking, DTC P1629 will set.

Conditions for setting DTC are: an attempt is made to start engine, PCM detects an incorrect signal on theft deterrent fuel enable circuit and conditions are present for longer than 2 seconds.
