DTC B1374: Ignition 1 Fault (With Engine Running): Testing

  1. If Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located to left of steering column. Turn ignition on. Select BCM data inputs list. If IGNITION 1 INPUT is not active, go to next step. If IGNITION 1 INPUT is active, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  3. Check A/C BFC fuse (10-amp) in underhood junction block. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step  6 .
  4. Remove A/C BFC fuse from underhood junction block. Connect a test light between A/C BFC fuse terminal cavities in underhood junction block. Turn ignition on. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Gray 18-pin BCM connector C2. Turn ignition on. If test light illuminates, go to step  8 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  10 .
  6. Remove A/C BFC fuse from underhood junction block. Turn ignition on. Using a test light connected to ground, check for power at both A/C BFC fuse terminal cavities in underhood junction block. If test light illuminates at one terminal, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate at either terminal, go to step  9 .
  7. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Pink 24-pin underhood junction block connector C3. Using DVOM, check continuity of Pink wire between BCM harness connector C2 terminal B9 and underhood junction block harness connector C3 terminal C4. If continuity exists, go to step  11 . If problem is found, repair open in Pink wire. After repair, go to step  12 .
  8. Repair short to ground on Pink wire between BCM and underhood junction block. After repairs, go to step  12 .
  9. Repair open in power feed circuit to A/C BFC fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, go to step  12 .
  10. Check for poor connection at BCM connector C2 terminal B9 (Pink wire). See Figure . If connection is okay, go to next step. If a poor connection exists, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  12 .
  11. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Program BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under PROGRAMMING. After repair, go to step  12 .
  12. Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Clear DTCs. Perform BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
