Temperature Control

Air temperature valve is controlled by temperature valve actuator motor. Actuator motor is controlled by a variable voltage signal from A/C-heater control module temperature control knob. Temperature control knob also contains a vacuum valve that opens and closes vacuum by-pass valve depending on switch position. When temperature control knob is turned left, to coldest position, by-pass valve is closed. Hot water by-pass valve controls engine coolant flow to heater core. When temperature control knob is turned slightly clockwise, in hot direction, water valve is opened and heated engine coolant flows through heater core.
