Security Indicator Light Inoperative

  1. Check instrument cluster operation. See appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. Go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, select INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER, SPECIAL FUNCTIONS, and command SECURITY message on. If SECURITY message turns on and off with scan tool, perform appropriate system check. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. If SECURITY message does not turn on and off, replace instrument cluster. See appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article.
