Cruise Control Mode Switch
Cruise control mode switch is located on a lever, on right side of steering column. Cruise control mode switch includes RESUME/ACCEL, COAST/SET and CANCEL switches. See Fig 1 . RESUME/ACCEL switch returns cruise control system operation back to last speed set after a cancel input signal. By momentarily rotating switch clockwise RESUME mode is activated. If switch is held in RESUME position for more than one second, vehicle will accelerate. COAST/SET switch sets cruise control system speed to current vehicle speed. By momentarily rotating switch counterclockwise, SET mode is activated. If switch is held in COAST/SET position for more than one second, vehicle will begin to reduce speed. For COAST/SET mode to operate CRUISE CTRL switch must be pressed, indicator must be illuminated and vehicle speed must be more than 25 MPH. When CANCEL switch is pressed, cruise control module (part of cruise control servo) is signaled to immediately suspend cruise control operation.
