DTC B2597: TCS Switch Circuit (Short To Ground): Testing
- If BCM diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Use scan tool to select BCM INPUTS and monitor TCS SWITCH status. If status is ACTIVE, go to next step. If status is not active, go to step 7 .
- Disconnect TCS switch connector. Monitor TCS SWITCH status. If status is ACTIVE, go to next step. If status is not active, go to step 5 .
- Check for short to ground in Brown/White wire between BCM 32-pin connector C2 and TCS switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If faulty circuit is repaired, go to step 9 . If circuit is okay, go to step 6 .
- Replace TCS switch. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Replace BCM and program. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See BCM PROGRAMMING/RPO CONFIGURATION under PROGRAMMING. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Check for intermittent malfunction in TCS switch control circuit. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If faulty circuit is repaired, go to step 9 . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. Wait 60 seconds and check for DTCs. If DTC B2597 is current, go to step 6 . If DTC B2597 is not current, system is operating properly.
- Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. Perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
