Test No. 2: Lock-Out & Open/Close Switch Test
NOTE:
RSDACM C3, C4 and C5 connector color and number of pins not available at time of publication. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
- Perform POWER SLIDING DOOR SYSTEM CHECK . Go to next step.
- Enter Diagnosis Mode 2. See ENTERING DIAGNOSTIC MODES . During Diagnostic mode 2, PSD alarm should sound when pressing each PSD open/close switches, and when cycling PSD lock-out switch. If alarm does sound as specified, go to next step. If alarm sounds as specified, system malfunction is not present at this time.
- Disconnect interior light and multifunction switch electrical connector C3. Connect test light between battery voltage and interior light and multifunction switch electrical harness connector C3 terminal "B" (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, replace interior light and multifunction switch. Go to step 13).
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between interior light and multifunction switch electrical connector C3 terminals "B" (Black wire) and "D" (Black/White wire). With PSD lock-out switch depressed, infinite resistance should exist. With PSD lock-out switch released, less than 2 ohms should exist. If resistance values are as specified, go to next step. If resistance values are not as specified, replace interior light and multifunction switch. Go to step 13).
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between interior light and multifunction switch electrical connector C3 terminals "B" (Black wire) and "C" (Light Blue wire). With PSD open/close switch depressed, infinite resistance should exist. With PSD open/close switch released, less than 2 ohms should exist. If resistance values are as specified, go to next step. If resistance values are not as specified, replace interior light and multifunction switch. Go to step 13).
- Disconnect rear side door actuator control module (RSDACM) Natural, 9-pin connector C2. Using DVOM, measure resistance between rear side door actuator control module harness connector C2 terminal No. 13 (Black/White wire) and ground. See Figure . If reading is infinite, go to next step. If reading is not infinite, repair short to ground in Black/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Go to step 13).
- With DVOM connected as in step 6), Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM, measure voltage. If less than 2 volts exists, go to next step. If more than 2 volts exists, repair short to power in Black/White wire between interior light and multifunction switch and RSDACM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Go to step 13).
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between RSDACM harness connector C2 terminal No. 13 (Black/White wire) and interior light and multifunction switch harness connector C3 terminal "D" (Black/White wire). If less than 10 ohms exists, go to next step. If more than 10 ohms exists, repair poor connection or open in Black/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Go to step 13).
- Disconnected remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). Using DVOM, measure RSDACM harness connector C2 terminal No. 10 (Light Blue wire) and ground. If resistance is infinite, go to step 11). If resistance is not infinite, go to next step.
- Leave DVOM connected as in step 9). Disconnect "B" pillar PSD open/close switch electrical connector. Measure resistance again. If reading is infinite, replace "B" pillar PSD open/close switch. Recheck system operation. If reading is not infinite, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire between RSDACM and RCDLR. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Go to step 13).
- Leave DVOM connected as in step 9). Reconnect RCDLR. Again, check resistance. If reading is infinite, go to next step. If reading is not infinite, replace RCDLR. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM article. Go to step 13).
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between RSDACM harness connector C2 terminal No. 10 (Light Blue wire) and interior light and multifunction switch harness connector C3 terminal "C" (Light Blue wire). If less than 10 ohms exists, go to next step. If more than 10 ohms exists, repair poor connection or open in Light Blue wire between RSDACM and interior light and multifunction switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reconnect any connectors/components removed. Perform PSD reinitialization procedure. See PSD REINITIALIZATION . If PSD operates normally, system is okay. If PSD does not operate normally, go to POWER SLIDING DOOR SYSTEM CHECK .
