Test No 10

  1. Perform BCM SYSTEM CHECK. See BODY CONTROL MODULE article. Remove key from ignition. Press UNLOCK on remote transmitter. Turn ignition on. If security indicator is off, go to next step. If security indicator is illuminated, go to TEST NO 5  .
  2. Attempt to start engine. If engine does not start, problem is PCM related. See TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. If engine starts, problem is not present at this time. Go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reinstall all connectors and components. Turn ignition switch to RUN position for 6 seconds. Turn ignition off. Remove BCM PRGRM fuse. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. BCM should flash seat belt indicator and sound chime 4 times. Within one second, turn ignition switch from ACC to LOCK, then back to ACC position. BCM will sound any stored DTCs. If any DTCs are stored, see BODY CONTROL MODULE article. If BCM DTCs do not exist, system is okay.
