DTC 1: Seat Belt Indicator Light Control Circuit (Short To Battery Or Ground): Description

Body Control Module (BCM) controls operation of seat belt indicator light. BCM supplies voltage through circuit No. 529 (Dark Green/White wire) to seat belt indicator, which receives ground through circuit No. 1450 (Black wire). BCM turns on seat belt indicator for about 70 seconds when ignition switch is in RUN position and driver's seat belt is released. If driver's seat belt is fastened during this period, seat belt indicator will turn off. If driver's seat belt is released during same ignition cycle, BCM will turn on seat belt indicator for another 70-second period.

DTC 1 will set when BCM detects a short to battery or ground in circuit No. 529 (Dark Green/White wire). If circuit No. 529 is shorted to ground, seat belt indicator will not turn on.
