System Leak Check

  1. Disconnect harness connector to ELC compressor and inflator solenoid. Disconnect air line from air dryer. Using Pressure Gauge Adapters (J-22124-7 and J-22124-99) and Pressure Gauge (J-22124-30), connect air line to side of pressure gauge opposite of toggle valve. Close toggle valve (down position).
  2. Apply shop air pressure to pressure gauge service valve until gauge reads 80 psi (5.6 kg/cm2 ). Monitor pressure gauge reading for one minute. Observe if air sleeves on both shocks inflate and lift vehicle. Observe if system maintains pressure. If system maintains pressure, go to next step. If not, go to step 9 .
  3. Slowly release pressure. Connect a fused jumper wire between inflator solenoid terminal "A" and ground, and terminal "B" to battery voltage. Apply 80 psi (5.6 kg/cm2 ) shop air pressure to pressure gauge service valve. If sleeve on either shocks inflate, go to next step. If not, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace inflator solenoid. Perform RIDING HEIGHT CHECK  .
  5. Disconnect small air line connector from inflator solenoid. Monitor pressure gauge reading for one minute. If pressure leaks down after one minute, go to step  4 . If pressure does not leak down, go to next step.
  6. Depress core of inflator fill valve on inflator control panel. If inflator fill valve is pressurized, go to next step. If not, go to step  4 .
  7. Inspect ELC air compressor filter hose for leaks, kinks or blockage. If any problems are found, go to next step. If no problems are found, system is okay.
  8. Replace ELC air compressor filter hose assembly. Perform RIDING HEIGHT CHECK  .
  9. Check for kinks or poor air line connections at shock absorbers, crossover air line, "T" fitting, solenoid valve, and pressure gauge. Repair as necessary. If air lines are okay, disconnect air lines from both shock absorbers. Connect right side shock absorber to side of pressure gauge opposite adapter toggle valve. Close toggle valve.
  10. Apply 80 psi (5.6 kg/cm2 ) shop air to pressure gauge. Monitor pressure gauge for one minute. Repeat procedure for left side shock absorber. If either shock absorber does not inflate or leaks down within one minute, go to next step. If both shock absorbers inflate and hold pressure, go to step  12 .
  11. Replace faulty shock absorber. Perform RIDING HEIGHT CHECK  .
  12. Slowly release pressure from pressure gauge. Reconnect air line to shock absorbers. Connect crossover air line "T" fitting to side of pressure gauge opposite of adapter toggle valve. Close toggle valve. Apply 80 psi (5.6 kg/cm2 ) to pressure gauge. Monitor pressure gauge for one minute. If either shock does not inflate or hold pressure within one minute, go to next step. If shock inflates and system does not leak down, go to step  14 .
  13. Repair or replace crossover air line assembly. Perform RIDING HEIGHT CHECK  .
  14. Slowly release pressure from pressure gauge. Reconnect air line to crossover "T" fitting. Disconnect small air line connector from inflator solenoid. Connect small air line connector to side of pressure gauge opposite of adapter toggle valve. Close toggle valve. Apply 80 psi (5.6 kg/cm2 ) to pressure gauge. Monitor pressure gauge for one minute. If either shock does not inflate or does not hold pressure for at least one minute, go to next step. If shock inflates and system does not leak down, go to step  17 .
  15. Repair or replace jumper air line from solenoid to crossover air line "T" fitting. Perform RIDING HEIGHT CHECK  .
  16. Slowly release pressure from pressure gauge. Disconnect small and large air line connector from inflator solenoid to crossover "T" fitting. Connect large fitting on inflator solenoid to side of pressure gauge opposite of adapter toggle valve. Close toggle valve. Apply 80 psi (5.6 kg/cm2 ) to pressure gauge. Monitor pressure gauge for one minute. If either shock does not inflate or hold pressure for at least one minute, go to step  3 . If shock inflates and system does not leak down, go to next step.
  17. Repair or replace jumper air line from solenoid to air dryer. Perform RIDING HEIGHT CHECK  .
