Section 7 (Anti-Lock Brake System & Traction Control): Diagnosis: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: When a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set, EBTCM will turn valve solenoid relay off. This provides a ground path for SERVICE ABS light and will set DTC 63. This is normal and should not be considered a system problem. See DTC 63  in DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS.

Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM) contains a self-diagnostic capability to detect system failures. When a DTC is set, EBTCM may disable Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and/or Traction Control System (TCS) portion of system and illuminate SERVICE ABS and/or SERVICE ASR lights for duration of ignition cycle. DTCs stored by EBTCM can be displayed using Central Control Module (CCM) on-board diagnostics or Tech 1 scan tester with appropriate cartridge.

Start ABS/TCS diagnosis with ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK  chart under DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS. From ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK chart, you will be directed to enter diagnostics and retrieve DTCs, perform symptom diagnosis, or ABS/TCS functional check chart will indicate ABS/TCS is functioning properly.
